Based at our Lorton, Va location, this position will be responsible for the safe operation of the facility’s heavy equipment and the ash treatment area.

We seek a dedicated individual who will monitor and maintain proper operation of the ash conditioning and removal system.

This individual will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and cleaning all systems related to ash removal and conditioning, i.e., magnets, non-ferrous recovery, belt conveyors, drag conveyors, screw conveyors, bag-house hoppers, and etc.as well as turning on and off motor control centers and breaker operations.

Specific responsibilities are ensuring proper operation of the ash mixing system, ferrous and non-ferrous recovery, assisting other operating personnel as necessary to support plant operations, and maintaining and monitoring of sump pumps, and the entire ash conveyor system.


A HS diploma /GED is required, in addition to the mechanical ability to perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and assist in the unloading of lime and chemicals.

Skill in the operation of mobile equipment i.e., skid steers, forklifts, and large front end loaders.

Welding experience would be a plus along with the ability to complete the necessary training to fill in as a Refuse Crane Operator and Auxiliary Operator as needed.
