The EOT Crane Specialist, working under direction of the Manager of Crane Services, will provide expertise, technical support, inspections and field execution of troubleshooting and repairs of refuse, residue, and turbine cranes.

  1. Build and maintain relationships with Covanta facilities that utilize refuse, residue and turbine cranes.

  2. Perform periodic crane inspections.

  3. Provide onsite technical support and project leadership for major and/or minor crane upgrades.

  4. Provide remote assistance (troubleshooting/technical guidance) to support timely resolution of refuse, residue and turbine crane issues.

  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to travel extensively to Covanta facilities to interface with customers, perform field inspections and other operational/maintenance activities associated with EOT cranes


  • High School graduate or equal.

  • Five (5) years EOT crane experience.

  • Certified EOT crane inspector.

  • Performed periodic and frequent inspections on P&H, Whiting, CMS, Konecranes and other EOT crane manufacturer’s equipment.

  • Thorough understanding of EOT crane design, operation and best maintenance practices.

  • Strong crane electrical controls knowledge (static stepless, counter-torque, stepped, thyristor and VFD Regen).

  • Electric motor control troubleshooting.

  • Familiar with PLC’s and ladder logic.

  • Understanding of crane preventive maintenance procedures and practices.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially with Excel (spreadsheets, modeling, and pivot tables), Outlook, and Access.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and easily with management/ employees at different levels of the organization in office or remotely

  • Safe working skills.

  • Report writing.

  • Motivated, self-starter.

  • Customer focused.
