In this role, you will utilize your mechanical expertise to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance support of all phases of mechanical equipment/systems at the Facility. This will include installation, troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance, and documentation of work on the equipment/systems via a PeopleSoft CMMS in a way that maximizes equipment reliability and unit uptime.  In addition, you will provide general technical support for rotating equipment issues in order to identify and initiate repairs, upgrades, perform root cause failure analysis, and operate and maintain equipment. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this is a Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm shift with occasional overtime required.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create preventive and repair job plans for maintenance notifications or work orders from assigned plant areas, providing all necessary details (material required, drawings, special tool requirements, coordination with contractors, etc.) in job packages
  • Collaborate with the Lead Mechanic Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors to support execution of planned work
  • Collaborate with technicians, boiler and reliability engineers to develop task list for maintenance plans
  • Serve as primary backup to Maintenance Supervisor or other Lead Mechanics during absences, vacations, etc.
  • Review all work orders for compliance with all environmental and safety requirements
  • Actively support and collaborate with buyer, storekeeper and other site personnel as needed to manage maintenance backlog in a way that meets the business needs
  • Support site work management process (i.e. updating BOMs, improving job plans and task list, etc.)
  • Provide technical leadership where appropriate for specific repairs in the units
  • Be a leader and a mentor to other technicians within the maintenance function
  • Perform other maintenance related task and assignments as requested by maintenance leadership
  • Evaluate and analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data and trends to assist in the anticipation of plant maintenance needs, prioritization and planning of work.

The position requires a minimum of 1-3 years of power plant or related industrial experience and a technical background in solid fuel boiler and steam turbines. 

Experience in spreadsheets, word processing and computerized maintenance management systems is also required.

To be considered for this position you must have a solid background in power or industrial plant maintenance including a minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience and familiarity with PeopleSoft or other computer based work order/inventory systems. Must be able to identify needs for improvement & implement change, knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies and ability to manage spare parts inventory to optimum levels.
