Job Title: Tax Associate II

External Description: This position (1) provides support to multiple major tax functions to ensure that all filing requirements and responses to governmental audits are completed on a timely and accurate basis, (2) completes assigned tax administrative tasks, and (3) trains and provides oversight to other Tax Associates in a major tax function.
Incumbents will be assigned to a major tax function but will support two or more major tax functions.  Responsibilities are as follows:
• Assists in the preparation and tracking of federal, state, and regulatory tax matters (e.g., tax depreciation, tax compliance, tax provision, tax returns and tax audits) for two major tax functions using established policies, procedures, and tax systems/documents.
• Responsible for or assists in assigned tax administrative tasks, including  required tax filings, document retention, and the preparation of supporting documentation to support filing positions and responses to government audits.
• Input, reconciliation, and maintenance of data in tax systems (e.g., PowerPlan, Corptax, internal Tax Applications, etc.).
• Analyzes technical data/processes, troubleshoots problems, proposes solutions following predetermined parameters, and participates in projects and process improvement.
• Train and provide oversight to other Tax Associates in a major tax function.

External Qualifications: •Requires a high school diploma and four or more years of clerical accounting or financial experience or equivalent education.
•An associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration, is preferred.
•CPA is highly desirable.
•Solid working knowledge and experience in supporting one major tax function and able to train Tax Associates in the function and have taken affirmative steps toward developing such knowledge in another major tax function.
•Must have knowledge of business and routine accounting practices/methods.
•Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.  A working knowledge of other computer software and database systems, such as SAP, is preferred.
•Excellent organization skills.
•Ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues.
