Responsible for tuning and management of the real time ecosystem


Expertise/ Skills:

  • 5+ years managing clustered services, distributed systems, production data stores
  • Have experience managing a 24x7x365 environment (no downtime)
  • Have experience in one or more scripting languages
  • Need to be comfortable with Linux & Windows environments



  • Load distribution of processing and I/O events throughout the environment
  • Coordinate with IT Systems Administrator and project developers to review and recommend application patches and upgrades where appropriate
  • Troubleshoot application issues with project developers, and submit and manage tickets with software vendors
  • Support and develop against our existing ELK or Splunk log aggregation environment
  • Assist the IT System Administrator with defining and tuning all project monitoring and alerting


Additional skills:

  • “Big Data” concepts
  • Have experience in one or more NoSQL applications – MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
  • Message queuing solutions such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Data stream processing solutions such as Storm or Spark
  • Familiarity with containerization solutions like Docker or LXC
  • Familiarity with DevOps configuration management solutions such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.
  • Log aggregation tools such as Splunk or ELK experience.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience or through 11 years of software development.  Completion of a graduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline (optional).
