Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Design advanced testing methodology for current fracturing fluids, acid fluids, scale control and others. 
  • Manage fluid-rock interaction projects from concept to production commercialization.
  • Serve as a customer liaison, providing technical and operational support.
  • Serve as a mentor to chemists, engineers, designers and technicians.
  • Provide consultation and technology transfers to internal and external peers.
  • Good working knowledge of fundamental chemical principles and apply them to solving practical problems.
  • Chemical equilibria, chemical solubility, effects of temperature and pressure, knowledge of functional group reactivity and transformations. Have the ability to apply this knowledge to complex chemical systems.
  • Analyze complex chemical problems and be able to use chemistry and career experience to investigate problems multiple layers deep.
  • Lead and/or advise technical teams to deliver projects using a stage gate process.
  • Distill complex problems into manageable solutions.
  • Guides employees on how to perform advanced chemical research and development by applying current laboratory HSE standards and recognizes exceptions to normal chemical trends.
  • Oversees the development of new technologies and products which contributes to long term technology and business vision.
  • Provides Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers.
  • Provides technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements.
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and effectively communicates with all levels of the organization.
  • Represents Halliburton in professional societies in area of specialization.

     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and ten years of related experience.
  • Completion of a masters or doctoral degree in Chemistry is preferred.
  • Suitable candidates include PhD Chemists with 5-15 years of experience.
  • Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for a higher level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available including a Principal R&D Chemist to a R&D Advisor Chemist and Sr. R&D Advisor Chemist.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in organic and/or polymer synthesis.
  • Knowledge of polymer structure/property relationships.
  • Working/experienced knowledge of chemical mixing, blending and pumping systems.
  • Experience in oil and gas stimulation.
