Under broad direction, responsible for creating product family and discreet product level statistical based forecast algorithms utilizing a combination of historical and forward looking causal data.  Job role has budgetary type of accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center’s viability or its quality of service via personal contributions. Job role contributes directly to value creation.


Job Roles:

  • Design and develop, with assistance from others, data models which incorporate historical and forward looking causal data for use with forecasting algorithms.
  • Coordinate development of product families with PSL and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Design, develop, and validate statistical based forecasting algorithms at product family level
  • Design and develop statistical methods to break product families forecast into discreet product mix.
  • Design and develop methodology to simulate forecasts using a "what if" analysis approach.
  • Design and develop methodology to measure forecast accuracy.
  • Utilize industry and product knowledge coupled with forecast accuracy metrics to continuously improve forecast model.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Field Master planners to develop PSL specific models when required.
  • Facilitate communication between Manufacturing and Field operations to improve service level fill rates and inventory turn rates.
  • Present forecast, model assumptions, and accuracy results to forecast stakeholders.
  • Responsible for creation and delivery of forecast at product family and discreet product level
  • Maintain and manage documentation and logs describing forecast models
  • Provide other analytical support as needed by Manufacturing, PSL, and Field Materials operations



Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent related experience


  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in forecasting and/or mathematical modeling which includes experience in Demand Planning, Inventory Management, business planning or equivalent
