  • Conduct demand response (DR) and storage site surveys
  • Recommendations on DR client capabilities
  • Provides engineered sales support
  • Field equipment programming
  • Data validation
  • Hardware and software research
  • Site deployments
  • Minor SCADA programming and graphics
  • Minor network configuration and coordination with IT
  • Customer cyber security review and implementation, address vulnerabilities
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Must have the ability to travel to other locations.
  • Capability for up to 3 days per week of out-of-town travel by air, train or auto.


  • Provide support for special projects and other duties as assigned by President or Director of Engineering.


  • BA/BS Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills working with a diverse team of engineers, technicians and contractors.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Building Automation experience is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills and understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • IT networking knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work as a provisional mechanical, electrical and network engineer on demand.
  • Ability to fabricate control panels.
  • CAD drawing skill (Visio preferred).  
  • Must love Excel.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
  • Must be able to exercise independent discretion and judgment.
  • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.


  • Must be able to work in an office environment.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Jobs requires sitting and or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work at a computer and computer monitor and use repetitive motion for long periods of time.
  • Ability to conduct field site surveys which may involve climbing ladders and extensive walking and standing (up to 8 hours with breaks).
  • Capability for up to 3 days per week of out-of-town travel by air, train, or auto.
