Under broad direction, performs the role of a technical advisor to the operator/customer for complicated and difficult drilling situations on location or onshore to provide recommendations to optimize the drilling operation based upon the geological analysis and interpretation of all relevant information sources or work on specific projects as required. Acts as a lead in the team, ensures StrataSteer required data is properly and accurately collected and documented including possible problems or deficiencies and communicates them as necessary internally and/or directly to the customer. Correctly generates any kind of Geosteering modeling using any Sperry Induction type - Resistivity tool available in the market. Monitors geological operations and provides analysis of conditions encountered in real time using any Sperry tool which can provide the petrophysical properties of the surrounding media. Performs a complete post-mortem study involving all Geological branches such as structural, stratigraphical or sedimentological analysis to present the client a real and reliable justification of the well bore position based on the response of ours or third parties tools to use our services in upcoming projects. Fully understand the whole components of Geosteering process, including Real Time Operations issues, data transmission–WITS, WITS-ML, LWD tools and available Drilling Systems operation, capable to modify the actual well plan using external software (actually Compass) and communicate the results directly to the multidisciplinary team/customer for further positioning decisions. Provides analysis for the Geosteering discipline using and interpreting data to assist in the planning and solution of geo- positioning problems and make accurate and safe drilling recommendations to the customer during the course of the well for a proper estratigraphical position of the current well. Develops new and innovative analysis methods within the discipline, capable of delivering any StrataSteer related training courses either internal or external. Performs any other specialized tests or gathers any additional data as required by the customer. Presents complete, detailed, accurate and professional reports to the customer as required. Delivers presentations internally and to the customer on project results on service's disciplines utilized. Maintains an updated standard well summary file during the well to assist in writing the end-of-well report, responsible for completion of the end-of-well report which will be completed and ready for customer delivery within a week of the end of the drilling operation. Provides recommendations pertinent to the safe and cost- effective drilling of future wells included on the end-of-well report and performs in such a way as to obtain repeat business. Provides support on interpreted geological data visualization via Insite Anywhere or other real time visualization tool available in the future. Participate as a lead author on a paper published by the AAPG/SPE/SPWLA which will demonstrate technical excellence and establish credentials with clients. Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Geoscience or Petroleum Engineering and a minimum of 24 months experience as a Field Prof-StrataSteer® 3D II, to include a minimum of 8 years industry experience that includes a minimum of 5 years wellsite experience. The average experience ranges from 10 to 20 years industry experience and 7 to 17 years Optimization service delivery. Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements. Must have met the minimum competency requirements for the Field Prof - StrataSteer® 3D, Sr. Thorough knowledge of onshore and offshore drilling practices. Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude to standards required. Must possess good communication, supervisory, interpersonal leadership, good verbal communication, presentation, technical writing, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills. Proven competency in relevant computer software. Proven competency and experience of modeling, interpretation and well site monitoring of LWD and wireline measurements. Must possess relevant offshore certificates as required. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes. This is a field position.
